Nueva Palmira
The city is located northwest of the department of Colonia, on the eastern bank of the Uruguay river near the source of the Río de la Plata, and at the confluence of national routes 21 and 12. Route 21 connects it with the departmental capital Colonia del Sacramento, located 100 km southeast of Nueva Palmira.
The port of Nueva Palmira
Is located on the coast of the Uruguay River next to the city and since its inception has registered an important commercial activity. It is the second most important port in the country in terms of cargo tonnage mobilized, preceded by the port of Montevideo, while occupying the first position in terms of growth rate.
Ministry
The Iglesia Bautista de Nueva Palmira started in March of 2019 in our home living room. We started by going door to door on our block and neighborhood, giving our Bible tracks and inviting people to come learn about God. We are currently on our first term of ministry. We have seen God´s hand on us as we spread the Gospel in this city. We have a door-to-door visitation program, and we give out tracks and Bibles to interested contacts. Many have come to church and have been saved. Our group is of around 20 people. The small group has taken a hard hit in 2020 because we could not meet for 9 months. Even so, several believers have grown spiritually and are firm in their faith. After meeting in our home for 1 year, the Lord has provided for the rent of a church building that is well located in the main street of the town. We are slowly starting the activities again such as teens meetings, woman’s meetings, prayer meetings and children´s activities.
